Finally, Penny's bday pics

Doug's pics are unavailable at the moment so i'm posting my blurry pics from Penny's party. Great little family party, we all had fun.

She devoured the cupcakes
Cute decor ideas from Design Mom. I needed about 3 times the balloons and circles, though.

She absolutely did not like the crown that Sophie made for her.
But she did like all her fun presents!

I'm throwing these in because i like them.  At Sophie's bball Championship game. {note the badge:}
And this one is because she looks soooo big at her middle school locker. this was at Open House.

Note to Self:

Write about:
  • Rossy's wedding - wicked fun party.
  • Awesome Spring break with Utah cousins.  Both kids were in cousin heaven because all families were in town for the wedding. Sophie usually ends up hanging out with the adults while owen plays with the 13 cousins younger than him.  Mostly boys...pure heaven.
  • Doug's quick NY trip.  check burtonsnorth blog for Pics.  pretty sweet.
  • Contemplating a Pot Garden. Not to grow pot but to use pots to grow stuff in.  Is it time to plant tomatoes?
  • Contemplating new blog.  Don't really love Private.
Maybe there'll be time tomorrow to add the details.

So much to catch up on.

Penny's 1st Birthday Party, Sophie's last Basketball game, fun Mom/Daughter date seeing the King and I at Sophie's school....But, sadly, I can't do it tonight. I'm tired and i'm going to bed.

I do have 2 funny owen stories for the memory books.

  • Tonight Owen was telling us that he wants to play basketball again but he hates it when no one passes him the ball.  We told him that it might help him become a better player if we actually got a hoop at our house and maybe played every once in a while.  Sophie also explained that all the boys that age are BALL HOGS and that they don't pass because they want all the glory.

{Owen's response made us really giggle secretly under our breath so as not to make him feel self-conscious. after all, he's right.}

Owen:  Mom, you know who is the BIGGEST ball hog?  Lucifer.  He wants all the glory for himself.

Sophie honestly thought he was talking about some kid on his last basketball team or the cat from Cinderella.

  • He couldn't find one of his homework pages tonight so he said a prayer so "the Spirit could help him find it."  So, we were looking together and i was talking as we went from room to room searching in every corner and finally he said
"Mom, if you stopped talking I could hear a lot better."

Quite the spiritual kid.

Freaky Twitter Bug

So, i had to pull down that last post about the shoot because the commenter "a little bird"  linked my blog to her James F. Twitter fan club.  How lame.  anyway, i may get a new blog address so that i don't have to freak out about wierd stalkers looking for some little piece of gossip and then deciding they want to obsess about my kids instead.  not cool.

skin care,

oh, skin care.  my rapidly-aging face demands really great skin care.  I used Keihl's before I found Arbonne, {yes, the icky multi-level business plan makes me cringe, but it was heaven to my parched crows feet.}

But, a few weeks ago I ran out of all things Arbonne and just couldn't bring myself to spend the $150.00 plus shipping to get it to my house.  I know, that's too much money for 3 products that don't last very long.  It's a recession, people!  Commercials have been few and far between round these parts....and don't even ask about features.  ha ha.

Anyway, when i couldn't pump any more day creme  from the arbonne pump i unscrewed the top and found that there was a ton of creamy product left, it just couldn't get up that skinny straw to be pumped into my eager hand.  So, i got out q-tips and started digging, which lasted a few extra days but then it hit me what a horrible design the PUMP is for creamy face stuff! Creme needs a pot, jar or a tube, not a pump, period!  oh, then i felt dupped, no wonder it didn't last very long, and that made me mad.

So, i began the search to find something new, a replacement for product i used to love and now hate.   Jessica mentioned in casual conversation, Hope in a jar.  She uses it and loves it. I got on Sephora.com and found that it's made by Philosophy {awesome} and they have a starter kit called, "Make-up Optional" for Dry/Sensitive skin. {which i have.}  They also have one for congested skin which is another word for oily/combination, i assume. But they idea is they transform your skin so that make up is optional.  I know, big promise.

So, i ran down to sephora and grabbed me a box because, guess what, all 4 full-sized products came to the exact same price as the Arbonne night creme ALONE with shipping.  Boo-yah!  It also comes with 3 microderm peel samples, which they suggest to do weekly.

The best part is that it appears to work after just a few days.  love it.  Not sure i'll be flying totally make up free anytime soon, but I feel hydrated and those dang crows feet seem to be at bay.

p.s. they all come in pots and tubes or bottles...no pumps.
